Timelapse is technique that compresses the time an event
takes: most commonly seen in nature filming - a bud can be
seen to flower in a few seconds, suns set, tides wax and wane.
Inspired by the Film "Baraka"
Gethin Coles started producing timelapse footage in 1995.
Specialising in urban and rural landscape filming Gethin uses
this technique along with natural speed filming and slow motion
to highlight events and patterns that occur in the environment.
Gethin's time-lapse production differs from standard timelapse
production techniques - he generally uses long exposures to
slightly blur motion and movement creating a subtly different
feel to the "frenetic" feel of standard timelpase.
